Susan Williamson

Susan is a pastel painter who divides her time between a home in Lower Gwynedd, PA and a cottage on Paradox Lake, NY.

She has studied at the Pennyslvania Academy of the Fine Arts, with Jim MacFarlane at the Greater Norristown Art League, and was awarded a full scholarship to attend The Scottsdale Art School.

Susan is a juried member of Women Artists of the West, Pastel Society of America, Philadelphia Water Color Society, and the American Society of Bovine Painters. She is a Signature member of the Philadelphia Water Color Society.

Susan's paintings are in collections across the country and have been accepted into shows such as the Pastel Society of America Show, International Association of Pastel Societies Shows, Adirondack Pastel Society, Philadelphia Water Color Society International Exhibition, Phillips Mill Annual Show, Yellow Springs Art Show, Audubon Society Show, and the Northeast National Exhibition of Pastels.

The majority of landscapes are painted on site, en plein air. The cattle and other domestic animals are sketched on site but the final pieces are painted in the studio. ' I believe there is no substitute for working from life.'
